Maryland Technology Extension Service (MTES), operating
from three regional offices in the state,
offers on-site technical assistance to Maryland companies
in the areas of:

MTES
is the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (MTECH)'s
principal program for extending University expertise
directly
to industry.
We are:
- an
experienced staff of engineers and business specialists
- an
affiliate of the NIST - Manufacturing Extension
Partnership program
- the
main contact for providing University of Maryland
faculty expertise to Maryland companies

The
Maryland Technology Extension Service (MTES) has
completed 418 major projects with 324 Maryland companies
during September 1997 to March 2000. Working with
MTES has provided these Maryland Manufacturers with
the following results and benefits, based upon impact
data collected by the NIST-MEP U.S. Census survey:
- Increase
in sales of $9.0 million
- Cost
savings in Labor and Material of $2.2 million
- 62
jobs created and many more jobs retained
- Customer
satisfaction rating of 4.46 on a scale of 5.0
Eighty
eight percent of the Manufacturers reporting impact
have 1 to 250 employees, with 31% in the range of
50 to 99 employees.
